LONDON -- A court hearing in the case brought by Ferrari against McLaren's chief designer was canceled Wednesday when Mike Coughlan agreed to tell the Italian Formula One team how he acquired its design secrets.
Coughlan was suspended by McLaren last week when documents were found in his house.
Ferrari, which was pursuing its case through the High Court in London, claims that Coughlan and his wife had copies of Ferrari's design secrets.
Coughlan has been linked to Ferrari's head of performance Nigel Stepney, who has already been fired by the team for allegedly sending the documents to Coughlan.
Stepney has denied it, although Ferrari won a court order to search the Coughlans' home and the documents were found, along with computers which are set to be examined.
Ferrari's legal action is set to continue and Coughlan's statement could also be used in the criminal case it is pursuing against Stepney in Italy.
