Best NASCAR Sprint Cup paint scheme of 2008

After two weeks of voting, we're down to the final four for the best NASCAR Sprint Cup paint scheme of 2008.

From last week's specialty paint scheme voting came Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Moutain Dew retro scheme and, perhaps in a mild surprise, Travis Kvapil's California Highway Patrol scheme.

Poll
Which paint scheme is the best?
  20% No. 24 DuPont

  13% No. 18 M and Ms

33% No. 88 Mountain Dew retro

35% No. 28 California Highway Patrol

Total Votes: 2841
The Mountain Dew retro scheme was one of four Earnhardt Jr. cars that were available to vote for during the first two rounds, but the only one that made it to the finals, picking up 374 of the 1,280 votes cast in the second round.

"The Dale Jr. retro car is the class of this field," wrote nhoss22. "I am not a huge Jr. fan, but that car looks awesome! It's not ultra flashy, but it is classy and would make a great primary scheme as well!"

Kvapil's CHiPs car drew 220 votes, outpacing Earnhardt Jr.'s National Guard camo scheme, which picked up 201 votes (view complete results from Round 2).

Joining Earnhardt and Kvapil's cars in the finals are the primary paint jobs of Jeff Gordon's No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet and Kyle Busch's No. 18 M&M's Toyota.

During the first week of voting, Gordon's Fire and Flames No. 24 took top honors among primary schemes with 410 votes out of the 1,986 cast. The Earnhardt Jr. contingent leaned more toward his Amp Energy car (306 votes) over his National Guard car (232), but Busch's M&M's machine snuck by both to snag second by a mere seven votes (view complete results from Round 1).

So which paint scheme will prevail in a best-of-the-best battle according to your votes? The poll will be open until 9 a.m. ET on Jan. 2, shortly after which we'll reveal your choice as the top scheme of 2008 and showcase some of the new schemes for 2009.
