Indian boxing federation suspended by world body

NEW DELHI (AP) -The Indian Amateur Boxing Federation has been provisionally suspended by world body AIBA, four days after the Indian Olympic Association being suspended by the International Olympic Committee.

AIBA made the announcement after a meeting at Lausanne in Switzerland on Thursday. It said the move was connected to the IOC decision and also because of "possible manipulation of the recent elections" held by India's national body.

The IOA went ahead with its elections on Wednesday despite the IOC suspending it and declaring the elections "null and void". The new IOA president Abhay Singh Chautala was also representing IABF as its chairman.
