Presented by Epson

“Masters Extra” To Provide Bonus Coverage In Addition To “Amen Corner Live” on CBS SportsLine.com

Approximately 26 hours of live video to be available from the 2007 Masters® Tournament on both CBS SportsLine.com and Masters.org

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, and AUGUSTA, GA, March 1, 2007 - CBS SportsLine, a leading Internet sports media organization and part of CBS Interactive, in conjunction with masters.org, CBS Sports and the Masters Tournament today announced that there will be an extra hour of live streaming bonus coverage, Masters Extra, in addition to Amen Corner Live for the 2007 Masters Tournament.

Masters Extra will be produced by CBS Sports with the complete Masters announcer lineup of Jim Nantz, Nick Faldo, Peter Oosterhuis, Verne Lundquist, David Feherty, Bill Macatee, Peter Kostis and Ian Baker-Finch and will provide live streaming video of the entire field and course from the 2007 Masters Tournament for one hour prior to television coverage.

As was the case with its debut in 2006, Amen Corner Live will again feature live streaming video of the 11th, 12th and 13th holes from the Augusta National Golf Club.

Both Masters Extra and Amen Corner Live will be available free of charge at cbs.sportsline.com as well as www.masters.org and will be presented all four days of the 2007 Masters Tournament, April 5-8. In total there will be approximately 26 hours of live video from Augusta National Golf Club.

"We are happy to work with Augusta National in producing expanded coverage via the Internet of golf’s most watched tournament,” said Sean McManus, President, CBS News and Sports. “As viewers continue to embrace broadband video, “Masters Extra” and “Amen Corner Live” will enhance the experience showing more golf and more golfers throughout the four days of the Masters Tournament.”

"Providing this additional coverage further demonstrates the importance we place on the Internet," said Billy Payne, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament. "The Internet complements our broadcast and it fulfills one of our principal objectives of exposing as many people as possible to this great sport of golf. On-line coverage of the Masters has great potential to reach an even larger audience."

2006 Amen Corner Live Traffic Numbers:

  • Over 3.4 million video streams of live golf action were served over four days

  • A peak usage figure of over 85,000 simultaneous streams

  • The average time spent viewing "Amen Corner Live" was over two hours per visit

The name Amen Corner refers to hole Nos. 11, 12 and 13. Amen Corner was first coined in a 1958 Sports Illustrated article by Herbert Warren Wind. Wind was searching for an appropriate name for the location where the critical action had taken place that year. He borrowed the name from an old jazz recording "Shouting at Amen Corner" by a band under the direction of Milton (Mezz) Mezzrow, a Chicago clarinetist. (Courtesy masters.org)

The Masters, the most renowned tournament in golf, will be broadcast on CBS for the 52nd consecutive year, a record for the longest-running sporting event broadcast on one network. This year marks the 71st Masters Tournament, one of the most highly-anticipated sporting events of the year.
