* Jax-Pats rate
"The NFL on CBS'" coverage of New England's 31-20 win over Jacksonville on Saturday night, Jan. 12 earned an average overnight household rating/share of 20.2/33, up 15% from last year's 17.6/33 for the Indianapolis-Baltimore game on CBS in the metered markets.
This year's 20.2/33 is the highest rating for a Saturday AFC Divisional game since a 20.3/36 on CBS for the overtime game, Pittsburgh-Tennessee, on January 11, 2003. The game rating peaked at 21.9/35 from 10:30-11 p.m., ET.
* Quick Hits
Dan Marino (On Jacksonville vs. New England QB Tom Brady on Saturday night):
The Jacksonville defense didn't know whether to sack him or kiss him.Shannon Sharpe (On Green Bay running back Ryan Grant's tough start):
Lambeau Field, it could have been Ryan Grant's Appomattox Courthouse, he could have surrendered but he did not. They stayed with him and he was unbelievable.* The NFL Today "General Manager" Charley Casserly
(On whether or not Seattle Coach Mike Holmgren will return next season)
Casserly: Mike Holmgren has stated, he told me, that he is going to wait until the season is over, sit down, take a little break and decide if he's going to come back. If he were to retire, then I would look for Jim Mora, Jr. to be the next head coach of the Seattle Seahawks.
