For the 37th straight year, CBS Sports returns to historic Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, with third- and final-round coverage of the CROWNE PLAZA INVITATIONAL AT COLONIAL on Saturday, May 29 and Sunday, May 30 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET, both days), live on the CBS Television Network. The World’s No. 2 player and two-time Colonial champion Phil Mickelson returns to the Colonial for the third and last tournament on the “Texas Swing.”
Jim Nantz, the 2009 Emmy Award Winner for “Outstanding Sports Personality - Play-by-Play” and 2009 National Sportscaster of the Year, serves as anchor of CBS Sports’ golf coverage. Sir Nick Faldo, winner of six major championships and more than 40 tournaments worldwide, serves as lead analyst. Ian Baker-Finch calls the action at the 17th hole and Gary McCord at the 16th hole. David Feherty and Peter Kostis serve as on-course reporters.
Defending champion Steve Stricker returns from an injury to compete at the Colonial for first time since the Masters. Last year Stricker came from two-strokes behind to force a playoff against Tim Clark where he won the second extra hole. Stricker, Mickelson and Clark tee it up against a field which includes two-time Colonial champion Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Ian Poulter, Paul Casey, Geoff Ogilvy, Hunter Mahan, Lucas Glover, Rickie Fowler, Y.E. Yang, Vijay Singh, Sean O’Hair, Zach Johnson, Stewart Cink, David Duval, K.J. Choi, Matt Kuchar, Nick Watney, Chad Campbell, Davis Love III, Paul Goydos, Angel Cabrera, Fredrik Jacobson, Steve Marino, and past Colonial winners Rory Sabbatini, Tim Herron and Corey Pavin. Dallas native Justin Leonard looks for his first win here after never missing a cut at the Colonial in 16 career starts with five top-10 finishes.
