BOB DEKAS
Coordinating Producer, NCAA Basketball

Bob Dekas has been the coordinating producer of CBS Sports' college basketball coverage since 1985.

>He is a nine-time Emmy Award-winner, including four for Outstanding Live Sports Series as lead producer for NCAA basketball coverage in 1988, 1990, 1991 and 1992. He also serves as producer for the CBS Television Network's coverage of the NFL. He produced the Network's coverage of Major League Baseball from 1990 to 1993 and won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Sports Special as coordinating producer for the 1993 World Series.

Dekas has worked on production of six Olympic Games, including coordinating producer, post-production for the 1994 and 1998 Olympic Winter Games, and on women's alpine skiing at the 1992 Olympic Winter Games, where he won an Emmy for Technical Innovation. He produced CBS Sports' coverage of the College World Series Championship for 15 years.

Dekas joined CBS Sports in 1981. He began his broadcasting career at WGN-TV Chicago as film editor and also has worked for ABC Sports and ESPN. He graduated with honors from Northwestern and was named All-Big Ten centerfielder, tying Dave Winfield for the RBI title. After graduation he signed with the New York Mets and played for the Batavia (N.Y.) Trojans in Class A ball.
