BOB MATINA
Studio Director, NCAA Tournament

Bob Matina is in his 19th year as studio director for CBS Sports' NCAA Men's Basketball Championship coverage. He also serves as director of THE NFL TODAY and CBS Sports' college basketball studio show. Matina directed THE SUPER BOWL TODAY, CBS Sports' pre-game studio show, for Super Bowls XXXV, XXXVIII and XLI. He has served as coordinating director for the CBS Television Network's coverage of the 1992, 1994 and 1998 Olympic Winter Games and directed the primetime broadcasts in 1994 and 1998 and weekend daytime broadcasts in 1992.

He began directing PGA TOUR events in 1988 and has worked as an associate director, late night director and co-director for CBS Sports' coverage of the Masters for 19 years. He also has co-directed the PGA Championship since 1991. Matina, a five-time Emmy Award-winner joined CBS Sports in 1981 as a broadcast associate.

During his tenure at CBS Sports he has directed NFL, college basketball, gymnastics, U.S. Open Tennis Championships, swimming and diving and several winter sports competitions. He produced the Emmy Award-winning "Lillehammer: An Olympic Diary" in 1995. Matina is a 1978 journalism graduate of Syracuse University. He worked as a cameraman, then a producer/director at WCNY-TV in Syracuse, N.Y. from 1978 to 1981.

Matina was born Nov. 8, 1956 in Benton Harbor, Mich. and lives in Wyckoff, N.J., with wife, Sue, and two children.
