One of the keys in La Salle’s run to the Sweet 16 this past season was the presence of transfers. Ramon Galloway spent two seasons at South Carolina before heading home to the Explorers, and Tyrone Garland left Virginia Tech at the start of his sophomore season.

Without those two, would Dr. John Giannini’s troops have made the second weekend of the NCAA tournament? Doubtful.

And now, the Explorers are dipping back into the transfer market. Auburn transfer Jordan Price is heading to La Salle after visiting the campus on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to sources.

Price, a 6-foot-5 guard from Georgia, averaged 5.4 points during his one season with the Tigers. He’s a strong backcourt player who can get to the rim and finish. His perimeter shooting improved at Auburn, and he will be a nice addition for the Explorers.

Price is the second transfer that La Salle has picked up this offseason. Georgia Southern guard Cleon Roberts decided on the Explorers in early May.
