Bob Hoffman, Mercer agree to contract extension
Mercer and coach Bob Hoffman have agreed to a contract extension.
Two months removed from a headline-grabbing upset win over Duke, Mercer coach Bob Hoffman has received a three-year contract extension.
The new deal will keep him with the Bears through the 2020-21 season.
"I'm thrilled about all the things that have transpired with our program and the overall direction of the university," Hoffman said in a statement. "The support we continue to receive from President Underwood, Jim Cole and everyone associated with the university is crucial to our success, and we're excited to see what we can accomplish in the days ahead."
Hoffman has been at Mercer for six seasons, going 126-82 in that span. The Bears set a single-season win record this past season, going 27-9 with a win over Duke in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
"We're extremely excited to have gotten this deal done," athletic director Jim Cole said. "Under Bob's leadership, the men's basketball program has represented Mercer in the utmost fashion on and off the court. While the team's recent accomplishments have been truly remarkable, we look forward to a bright future for the squad with Bob at the helm."
The newest contract extension is Hoffman's fourth since arriving at Mercer after the 2008 season.
