Bracketology: Big weekend ahead on the bubble
There are several big games this week for teams on the bubble, which means the bracket could have a different look on Monday
It's a big weekend for several teams on the bubble.
Texas Longhorns at Kansas State Wildcats -- KSU has a decent number of quality wins, but this would be the best one yet. The Wildcats lost to the Longhorns 67-64 on Jan. 21.
VCU Rams at Saint Joseph's Hawks -- The Hawks need quality wins. They have only a couple chances to get them and this is one of them.
Providence Friars at Xavier Musketeers -- This is a big game for both teams. Xavier has lost three in a row and the Friars have lost two of three, so both are sliding down the bracket. There are a lot of road games coming up for both teams.
Oregon Ducks at Arizona State Sun Devils -- The Ducks almost beat Arizona, but fell apart at the end. They have no time to sulk. ASU has passed Oregon in the bracket pecking order, but the Ducks can reverse that with a win here.
Indiana Hoosiers at Minnesota Golden Gophers -- The Hoosiers have shown they can beat good teams at home, now they have to take that act on the road. The Gophers have been in a slump, losing four of five, so it's a big game for them too.
Missouri Tigers at Ole Miss Rebels -- Mizzou had a chance to pick up high quality wins last week, but lost tough games to Florida Gators and Kentucky Wildcats . Now, all they can do is try to stay separated from the other bubble teams in the SEC. Ole Miss is one of those. This would be the Rebels best win of the year if they get it.
Michigan Wolverines at Iowa Hawkeyes -- This isn't a bubble game, but it's big for both teams. Michigan is trying to hold off Michigan State Spartans in the Big Ten chase, and Iowa has been playing hit-and-miss ball the last few weeks and could use another hit.
Michigan State Spartans at Wisconsin Badgers -- This also impacts the Big Ten race, but Wisconsin has lost three straight home games for the first time under Bo Ryan and the Badgers really need to get that home mojo back. They've only won two of their last seven, but one of those was the last time out at Illinois Fighting Illini . The Spartans got Adrien Payne back last game, but were without Keith Appling. They are the best team in the country when healthy. Nobody can remember the last time they were.
