Bracketology: Pitt falling into the pit; Xavier going with them
Pitt has fallen hard onto the bubble and Xavier is back in the danger zone after tough losses
We welcome Pittsburgh to the bottom of the bracket and to the bubble after another home loss to a non-contender. This time, it was North Carolina State taking down the Panthers. They have just one win over a likely tournament team (Stanford in New York). They also have a bad non-conference schedule. That's not a great combination.
Xavier took its third bad loss of the season on Monday, losing at Seton Hall. The Panthers swept the season series from the Musketeers. Seton Hall also swept Georgetown, and while the Pirates haven't had a great year, if either Georgetown or Xavier (or both) miss the tournament, they will be a big reason why.
Oklahoma State won its fourth in a row after beating Kansas State. The Cowboys are close to playing themselves off the bubble, but they still have a road game at Iowa State.
North Carolina won its 12th straight conference game, but the most remarkable thing about that is they did so beating only one sure tournament team (Duke), and one bubble team (Pitt), both at home. It used to be you couldn't go a week without playing a potential tournament team in the ACC.
