College basketball rankings: No. 1 Baylor, Duke go down, FSU and WVU shoot up

I was a big fan of, and campaigner for, Baylor's 15-0 start that featured six top-50 KenPom wins -- among them victories over Oregon, Louisville and Xavier. But the Bears' perfect record disappeared Tuesday via an 89-68 loss at West Virginia. So the Top 25 (and one) must adjust accordingly.

Baylor is no longer No. 1.

The Bears are now eighth in the Top 25 (and one). And Villanova is again No. 1 thanks to a résumé featuring six top-50 KenPom wins -- including Tuesday's blowout of Xavier -- and a lone loss that came at Butler by single-digits. In my opinion, at this moment, that's the nation's best résumé. For the purposes of comparison, know that UCLA and Kansas only have four top-50 KenPom wins each. Kentucky has just two. Gonzaga has three.

Here is the latest Top 25 (and one).
