Marquette's search for a new head coach started with a focus on VCU's Shaka Smart but has now expanded to include multiple candidates -- among them Tennessee's Cuonzo Martin, former UCLA coach Ben Howland and Duke associate head coach Steve Wojciechowski, sources told CBSSports.com on Sunday.

CBSSports.com first reported that Smart quietly declined the opportunity to replace Buzz Williams last Thursday, at which point Marquette began seriously exploring other candidates. ESPN.com subsequently reported that one of them is Martin; Yahoo! Sports then reported that another is Wojciechowski, the 37-year-old former Duke point guard who has been on Mike Krzyzewski's staff since 1999. At this point, sources told CBSSports.com, it appears one of those men will be the next head coach of the Golden Eagles.

Williams left Marquette for Virginia Tech on March 20.
