Duke's Ryan Kelly back at practice, hopeful of returning within week
Duke's Ryan Kelly was "moving well" in his first practice since reinjuring his foot on Jan. 8. The 6-foot-11 senior is expected to return to the court within the week -- barring a setback.
Ryan Kelly is back. Well, not completely back -- but Duke's senior forward practiced for the first time since reinjuring his foot Jan. 8.
The 6-foot-11 Kelly was "moving well", according to one source, and did not participate in any contact drills on Wednesday. He went through shooting drills and dummy offense.
Duke was 15-0 with Kelly in the lineup and was ranked No. 1 in the nation. The Blue Devils lost two of their first three games without him and currently sit at 24-3 overall and in second place in the ACC.
Kelly initially told CBSSports.com that he was hopeful of returning this Saturday against Miami, which occupies first place in the league, but now it appears more likely he will come back on March 5 against Virginia for Senior Night.
"The target date is Tuesday, but anything is possible depending on how he progresses over the next couple of days," the source told CBSSports.com.
