Much has been made about Gonzaga making its first appearance in the Final Four, which is certainly a huge deal. Mark Few and his staff have been working tirelessly for years to get to this point. So they deserve as much pub as any team left standing.

But not to be lost in the intrigue with Gonzaga: This is also South Carolina’s first trip to the Final Four.

Before this postseason the Gamecocks had not won an NCAA Tournament game in 44 years. Now the program is in a Final Four for the first time, and 40 minutes away from potentially playing in the national title game.
