Florida Gulf Coast to hire Kansas assistant Joe Dooley
Andy Enfield took Florida Gulf Coast to the Sweet 16 and then left for USC. His replacement at Florida Gulf Coast is Kansas assistant Joe Dooley.
Florida Gulf Coast will hire Kansas assistant Joe Dooley to replace Andy Enfield.
Dooley, 47, has been an assistant on Bill Self's staff for the past decade. He turned down the Hofstra head coaching spot earlier this month, but has decided to take over at Gulf Coast -- which returns most of its players from the team that was 26-11 this past season, won the A-Sun tournament and became the first No. 15 seed to advance to the Sweet 16. Enfield left to take the USC job earlier in the month.
The school made an official announcement on Wednesday.
Dooley was also 57-52 as the head coach at East Carolina from 1995 to 1999.
