Florida swingman DeVon Walker is expected to miss the 2014-15 season after suffering a torn ACL, sources told CBSSports.com.
Walker, a 6-foot-6 rising junior, was expected to compete for the starting small forward spot this season. He is one of the team's best perimeter defenders and brought experience to the wing.
Florida dealt with numerous injuries and early-season suspensions last season, and will be replacing four starters from a team that reached the Final Four and was arguably the best team in college basketball for much of the campaign. With Duke transfer Alex Murphy not eligible until after the first semester, there would have been minutes for Walker at the small forward spot.
Walker averaged 2.4 points last season, starting seven games.
