Georgetown's Jabril Trawick out indefinitely with broken jaw
Georgetown will be shorthanded going forward, as junior guard Jabril Trawick is out with a broken jaw and Joshua Smith is also not playing due to academics.
Georgetown lost by 18 points to Providence on Wednesday, but that’s not the only bad news that came out of the game against the Friars.
Junior guard Jabril Trawick is out indefinitely after breaking his jaw on Wednesday, the school announced Saturday.
Trawick brings strength and athleticism to the guard position, capable of finishing above the rim and also defending effectively on the perimeter. He is averaging 7.1 points and 2.5 rebounds this season, but went through a recent four-game stretch in which he averaged 8.5 points.
Without Trawick in the lineup, Aaron Bowen will likely take his starting spot. Bowen is athletic and brings energy to the wing. Freshman Reggie Cameron, a good shooter, will also see more minutes.
Another personnel issue for Georgetown is the status of Joshua Smith. The junior center missed last game due to an academic issue, and didn’t travel with the team for Saturday’s game against Butler.
The Hoyas are 10-4.
