Georgia Southern expected to hire Virginia Tech assistant Byington
Mark Byington was at College of Charleston for nine years. He spent this past season on the staff at Virginia Tech and is now headed to become the head coach at Georgia Southern.
Georgia Southern has hired Virginia Tech assistant Mark Byington, sources told CBSSports.com.
Byington spent this past season with new Hokies coach James Johnson after working as an assistant at College of Charleston for the previous nine seasons.
Byington will replace Charlton Young, who was fired after a 43-84 mark in four seasons. The Eagles were 14-19 this past season.
