Georgia walk-on tears ACL in bomb explosion during military stint

Dusan Langura, a freshman walk-on at Georgia, tore his ACL as a result of a bomb explosion while he was serving his military duty in his native Switzerland, according to USAToday.

There's plenty of talk about heroes in sports, but little of it is really justified. This may be one of those rare exceptions. 

A freshman walk-on for the Georgia Bulldogs’ basketball team will miss a significant portion of the season after he tore his ACL as a result of a bomb exploding while he was serving his military duty in Switzerland, according to USA Today.

"It really is a unique story," Georgia coach Mark Fox said of incoming freshman Dusan Langura. "He was injured in an explosion and one of the injuries was a torn ACL. We had committed to having him come. He can really shoot the ball. He was gonna be on our team. He had to serve his military commitment. This happened during it, so we're still going to honor our commitment to him." 

Fox said he doesn’t expect Langura to play this season and that he won't be medically cleared to practice until at least January or February.
