Kentucky places four among top 50 for the John R. Wooden Award

Four Kentucky Wildcats -- including three freshmen -- headline the top 50 list of early season candidates for the John R. Wooden award, according to Tuesday's announcement from the Los Angeles Athletic Club.

Duke, Kansas and Michigan State each placed three players on the list.

The 50 candidates are named below (in alphabetical order).

The list will be limited to 20 players midseason.
