Memphis transfer Dominic Woodson heading to Tennessee
Tennessee is expected to add Memphis transfer Dominic Woodson, and he could be eligible for the upcoming season.
Dominic Woodson is expected to enroll at Tennessee and begin classes on Thursday, sources told our own Gary Parrish.
To clear up some things on Dominic Woodson: I’m told the Memphis staff will tell the NCAA that Woodson’s scholarship was not renewed. …— Gary Parrish (@GaryParrishCBS) August 21, 2014
… Consequently, it’s reasonable to believe the NCAA will make Woodson eligible at Tennessee this season courtesy of a run-off waiver.— Gary Parrish (@GaryParrishCBS) August 21, 2014
The 6-foot-10 Texas native left Memphis last week after a freshman season in which he averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds. Woodson was suspended during the season for cursing -- something head coach Josh Pastner does not do or condone. He was also involved in a phyiscal altercation with a Memphis football player this summer.
Woodson, a four-star recruit coming out of high school, originally committed to Baylor before reopening his recruitment and pledging to the Tigers.
