There was plenty of optimism surrounding Northwestern at the midpoint of the Big Ten season, with the Wildcats sitting at 5-5 in the league. Since then, the Wildcats have lost five in a row -- and now will be without their second-leading scorer going forward.

Head coach Chris Collins announced on Thursday that JerShon Cobb would miss the rest of the season.

Cobb, a 6-foot-5 junior, is averaging 12.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 rebounds this season.
