Oral Roberts will return to Summit League in 2014
A double-back for a program that is seeing its new conference get clustered up with football-first programs.
A minor realignment note here: Oral Roberts will head back to the Summit League next summer, just two years after leaving the conference for the Southland.
“The Presidents Council unanimously supported Oral Roberts University’s return to The Summit League,” Dean L. Bresciani, North Dakota State University president and chair of the Summit League’s Presidents Council, said in a statement. “It is an indication of the enthusiasm the council has for the opportunity to enhance our membership.”
Oral Roberts spent 15 years in the Summit, from 1997 through 2012. The basketball team went to the NCAA tournament three times during that span.
ORU, 5-3 so far this season, went 20-15 a year ago and was a 13-5 team inside the Southland.
