Oregon State announces suspensions for Eric Moreland, Devon Collier
Oregon State will be without Eric Moreland for 14 games, and Devon Collier for one.
Oregon State forwards Eric Moreland and Devon Collier were suspended indefinitely back in July for violating on team rules.
On Tuesday, head coach Craig Robinson announced the timetable for each player’s return: Moreland will miss the first 14 games of the season, while Collier is suspended for one regular-season game, in addition to two exhibition games.
"They know what they've done has sort of put us in a little bit of a bind," Robinson told reporters, "but I feel really good about the way they're tackling their suspensions."
Oregon State’s basketball media day was Tuesday, so both players and Robinson were available to speak.

Moreland won’t be able to return until Jan. 9 against Stanford, while Collier will be back against Portland on Nov. 13. According to Chris Hansen of the Register-Guard, Moreland was suspended for a longer period of time because it was his second offense. He was also suspended last season for three games.
Moreland, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Houston, averaged 9.4 points and 10.6 boards last season. He decided to withdraw his name from the NBA draft back in April in order to return to Oregon State for his junior season. Meanwhile, Collier is a New York native who put up 12.6 points and 6.0 rebounds last season.
Fortunately, Oregon State does have some frontcourt depth to make up for Moreland’s extended absence. Big man Angus Brandt returns after missing all but four games due to a torn ACL, while Daniel Gomis also redshirted a season ago after undergoing surgery on a broken leg. Jarmal Reid started 17 games up front.
