Oregon's Jordan Bell cleared to join team; could redshirt
Oregon got good news this week, when freshman forward Jordan Bell qualified to play -- but he could still redshirt.
Oregon is slowly working toward having a complete team heading into Pac-12 play. The nine-game suspensions of Dominic Artis and Ben Carter are over soon, and now the Ducks are also adding athletic freshman Jordan Bell.
Bell, a 6-foot-7 power forward, has officially qualified and should join the team before the end of December.
He told Oregon’s 247Sports website that he will be with the Ducks before the December 29 game against Morgan State.
The Oregonian reported that Bell could end up redshirting this season, though.
Ranked No. 104 in the 247Sports Composite for the class of 2013, Bell was one of the better shot-blockers in the class. He’s a terrific athlete who can rebound and plays with a motor. He does have work to do offensively, though.
