PHOTO: UTEP's new court design is eye-catching without being gaudy
The Miners will play on a new surface this upcoming season, and we approve of the blueprint the school went with.
In an effort to wipe away any and all memory of James Madison's recent court design goof, I'm all too eager to pass along what's a pretty good concept coming out of UTEP.
Via @Miner_Nation's Twitter page comes the release of Texas-El Paso's new blueprint for its basketball team's home floor. The massive mining picks embossed onto the maple makes for a good touch. The shaded element is eye-catching. Good color scheme, solid-size logo at center court. It's about as busy "loud" as a court can be before getting into gauche territory.
It's been a busy offseason of court redesigns, and while these are tiny tidbits of news, they are interesting to flip through. Below, the lion's share of the floors that have been redone in recent months.
