The CBS Sports list of the top 101 players in college basketball has been published. I opened this episode of the Eye of College Basketball podcast by asking Matt Norlander why he had Villanova's Josh Hart so low.

Hart was third on my list.

He was 16th on Norlander's.

So we talked about that at the beginning -- then expanded our conversation into some of the players we believe might ultimately make us look silly. Among those: Valpo's Alec Peters and Michigan State's Miles Bridges. And though Norlander and I disagreed a bunch while compiling the list, it's worth noting one thing we agreed on is that Duke's Grayson Allen should be No. 1.

Seems obvious, frankly.

But we did get some pushback from various fanbases -- presumably ones who don't understand that Allen averaged 21.6 points last season and will likely be the best player on the best team this season. Simply put, that's National Player of the Year stuff. Anybody hating on Allen is just being a hater.

Speaking of Duke, it was a scary week for the Blue Devils. Five-star freshman Jayson Tatum went down during the school's Pro Day; the initial reaction was alarming. But it turned out to be nothing more than a foot sprain that should sideline the future NBA lottery pick for only a couple of weeks. And that's the best possible news Duke could've received once Tatum dropped to the floor in pain.

Did you read my story on Mike Daum?

We discussed it at the end of this episode and tried to highlight just how rare it is for somebody to do what Daum's done. The South Dakota State sophomore averaged 29.3 points per 40 minutes last season, which led the nation. He could be a future star of March Madness if the Jackrabbits earn the Summit League's automatic bid.
