Syracuse's impressive win means Big East Elite Eight matchup with Marquette
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The bandwagon was full in Bloomington. The Indiana Hoosiers were tabbed as the preseason No. 1 team in the country and Tom Crean's squad was in line for the No. 1 overall seed prior to a loss to Wisconsin in the Big Ten tournament.

Everyone had jumped off in Syracuse. Jim Boeheim's Orange looked nothing like the team that had risen up the rankings back in November and December, losing five of its last eight heading into the Big East tournament.
Teams heading in opposite directions and teams with vastly different expectations entering the season.
However, it's Boeheim's Syracuse that ended the dream of Indiana heading back to the Final Four for the first time in more than a decade and winning the national title for the first time since Keith Smart's shot in 1987. It's the Orange who have a chance to get to the Final Four for the first time since Carmelo Anthony cut down the nets in 2003.
Michael Carter-Williams, whose house literally burned down over the weekend, was sensational. He finished with 24 points, grabbed five rebounds, took care of the ball and also made 3-of-5 trifectas in the 61-50 victory over Indiana.
Syracuse's length bothered Indiana's tiny guards and also forced preseason National Player of the Year Cody Zeller to struggle in the paint.
Now Washington, D.C., has an all-Big East Elite Eight matchup. Syracuse vs. Marquette with one team heading to the Final Four.
