P.J. Hairston, Leslie McDonald and J.P. Tokoto will all miss North Carolina's exhibition with UNC Pembroke on Friday night, the school announced Friday afternoon.

Hairston and McDonald are out while UNC works with the NCAA to resolve eligibility issues.

Tokoto will miss the exhibition because he's the latest -- but far from the only -- to face a NCAA-levied suspension for participating in a summer event without proper authorization. His transgression? He played in two summer games without filing paperwork.

Whether the players will be available for next Friday's opener remains unclear.
