Top unsigned senior Anthony Bennett trims list
Florida was presumed to be the leader for Anthony Bennett for much of the past few months, but Bennett cut the Gators on Friday. On Sunday, Bennett took the next step and eliminated Kentucky as well. Which schools are left?
Things had been quiet on the recruiting front for Anthony Bennett, the nation’s top unsigned player. This past weekend, though, Bennett took multiple steps in the process.
He started the weekend on Friday by eliminating presumed favorite Florida from his list of four, then ended the weekend by announcing that Kentucky was also out of the running for his services.
With the two SEC schools off his list, only two schools remain: UNLV and Oregon.
Bennett, a 6-foot-7 forward from Findlay Prep, has taken trips to both schools. He went to Oregon when he was at the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland last month, and checked out UNLV recently as well. Fellow Canadian Khem Birch plays for the Runnin’ Rebels and is reportedly trying to get Bennett to stay in Vegas.
He is ranked No. 6 in CBSSports.com’s Top 100.
