UTC hires VCU assistant Will Wade
Will Wade, a VCU assistant, will be Chattanooga's next men's basketball coach, the school announced Monday via a tweet from athletic director David Blackburn.
"I could not be more excited about the opportunity to lead the Chattanooga basketball program," Wade said. "We will build a program the student-athletes, alumni and fans all take great pride in. We will employ a fast-paced, pressing style of play similar to VCU. I cannot wait to get to work."
CBSSports.com reported last week that UTC was down to three candidates -- Wade, Alabama assistant John Brannen and former Georgia head coach Dennis Felton. A source told CBSSports.com that Wade was informed over the weekend he would get the job.
Wade spent the past four seasons on Shaka Smart's staff at VCU.
He's a Tennessee native.
