VIDEO: Allen Iverson at his best during his Georgetown days

We want the season to come badly, so badly, that we're looking back nearly two decades at a time when college hoops was still in its peak.

This video is not new to the Internet -- it's almost 18 months old, making it practically ancient -- but I just came upon it, so it's automatically qualified to get on the blog.

It's Allen Iverson at Georgetown, his 10 best dunks while donning the blue and gray in the mid-'90s, my favorite era for college hoops. (I was too young in the heyday golden era of the '80s to ever know/appreciate what was going on.)

Anyway, hard to not get wistful at these clips. Iverson had quite the NBA career. Exciting, polarizing, enigmatic at times. Certainly confrontational and continually entertaining. (I don't even need to like That Press Conference because you can play it in your head right now.) But remember him at Georgetown? I can't recall five players since Iverson -- seriously, not five -- that were as electric on the screen in college as he was.

The clip at :54 is just filthy, as is the one at 1:55. Heck, most of them transcend what a point guard was expected to do in college basketball 15, 20 years ago.

Let's hope Andrew Wiggins can do next year what Iverson did back when: make college basketball must-watch, regardless of date and opponent.
