VIDEO: High schooler shatters backboard -- off an alley-oop
This is one of the best highlights of the season in all of basketball. RIP, that backboard.
Well, this is as vicious as it is dangerous as it is spectacular.
The one thing high school basketball can provide us on the regular with that college -- and certainly not the NBA - cannot: an old-fashioned backboard shatter.
Due to older hoops still being vulnerable in many a local gym around the country, on occassion one poor apparatus will fail to sustain itself against the power and fury of a freakily built teenager. Our latest casualty comes from Cary, N.C., where on Friday night Panther Creek senior Nubian Spann demolished the hoop -- OFF AN ALLEY-OOP.
Watch -- and listen. It sounds like a spine snapping. Nasty.
One of the most amazing basketball highlights we've seen this season.
