VIDEO: This week in new court designs, it's the Cal Golden Bears
Cal not only has a new court but also a new Bear logo that it's using going forward. We've got a video of the new scheme at Haas Pavilion.
It's become mandatory blog material here at Eye on College Basketball. You get a new court: you get a post. Next up is Cal, which did us the kind favor of going time lapse on its redesign. Watch as Cal's court -- Pete Newell Court -- is sanded and scrubbed away, making possible the new design.
Which is pretty cool.
The floor was completed on Monday. That's a new Bear logo that Cal will be using going forward. Menacing, and certainly prodigious.
"Over the years, the Haas Pavilion floor has undergone a redesign every 5-6 years to keep its features modern and updated," according to the school release. "With the unveiling of Cal's new brand identity in April, this was a perfect time to tinker with the court once again to keep the design elements consistent with the Bears' new uniforms and performance gear."
I think basketball floors are only getting better by the month.
Previously this offseason:
-- Old Dominion's new court
-- Buffalo's new court
-- Florida International's new court
