VIDEOS: Nicki Minaj gives surprise performance at Villanova
The pop star showed up in Pennsylvania Friday night and gave a lively performance to a packed crowd of Villanova students.
VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Each year Villanova puts on a concert to close out its Hoops Mania festival, a student invite-only Midnight Madness-themed basketball event that officially kicks off the start of the season.
This year's event was concluded with a surprise appearance and 25-minute performance by pop star Nicki Minaj. The 30-year-old singer/rapper performed hits such as Starships, Moment 4 Life, Beez in the Trap, High School and I Wanna Be With You. She met and took pictures/video with both the men's and women's team as well. This was surreal.
Before they stormed the court for the concert, earlier in the evening, students "streamed" the court. Tossing party streamers on the hardwood after the first basket of the intra-team Villanova scrimmage, celebrating the first public points of the Wildcats' season. Cool idea, and a really wild night on campus. We'll have more from Jay Wright and a story on Villanova coming later this weekend.
