Washington forward Desmond Simmons transferring to Saint Mary's
Saint Mary's adds a second transfer from the Pac-12. Washington's Desmond Simmons will join former Stanford guard Aaron Bright next season.
Washington transfer Desmond Simmons has committed to Saint Mary's, sources told CBSSports.com.
He will be immediately eligible next season.
The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 5.2 points and 4.6 rebounds last season for the Huskies and should immediately bolster the Gaels' front line in the West Coast Conference.
Simmons will join former Stanford guard Aaron Bright in Moraga, who like Simmons will transfer to Saint Mary's next season after graduating. The pair of Pac-12 transfers should give Randy Bennett two anchors moving forward to go along with big man Brad Waldow (15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds), 6-2 guard Kerry Carter (9.3 points), and redshirt freshmen Treaven Duffy and Calvin Hermanson.
The Gaels finished 23-12 last season and lost to Minnesota in the second round of the NIT.
