The UCLA Bruins cruised to a big halftime lead over Cal at Pauley Pavilion, thanks to strong play from its stars. And you can't mention stars and UCLA in the same sentence without including Lonzo Ball, who closed out the first half with this stone-cold 3-pointer to beat the buzzer and extend the lead to 20.

Coming from Chino Hills, California, and one of the most relaxed offensive high school system in the country, this was an everyday shot for the Bruins' star freshman. Ball is more than comfortable pulling up from this range on a regular basis. Heck, the way UCLA runs its offense this season, this shot from Ball is becoming a normal sight.

Apparently it runs in the family, too. Lonzo Ball's younger LaMelo, a UCLA verbal commitment, hit a similar shot at Chino Hills recently, calling his own shot from halfcourt before knocking it down.

The Bruins lead by as many as 24 points before letting Cal creep back in late, cutting it to a single-digit lead with less than a minute before putting the game away, 81-71. Lonzo Ball finished with 14 points on 5-0f-12 shooting, and his only 3-pointer on the night was his halftime buzzer-beater.

UCLA is now 15-1 on the season and 2-1 in conference play. The Bruins welcome Stanford into Pauley Pavilion on Sunday before making a road trip to Colorado next Thursday.
