Where will top prospect Andrew Wiggins go? Analysis, predictions
Andrew Wiggins is making his decision in 24 hours. Where will he end up? We make predictions.
We finally have a date and time for the second version of “The Decision.”
Late Sunday evening, a text message came through from Huntington Prep (W.Va.) coach Rob Fulford.
“Andrew will sign Tuesday around 12:15. He does not want to have a press conference signing. He wants it private to just his classmates, family and friends."

Of course, the Andrew being referred to is Andrew Wiggins, the top-ranked high school basketball player in the country -- and one of the best recruits to come across the landscape in years. Wiggins, a 6-foot-8 small forward from Canada, is down to Kentucky, Florida State, North Carolina and Kansas.
On Friday, we looked at which of his four finalists had the most to gain from Wiggins’ signature -- although it’s hard to say any of them couldn’t absolutely use a sure-fire All-American for next season.
Wiggins’ recruitment has been one of the most closely guarded processes in recent memory. It’s hard for high-profile recruits to avoid media interviews and constant discussion, but Wiggins has done it. Of course, there has been nonstop speculation, but Wiggins and the people in his circle haven’t said much of anything.
As a result, as we close in on 24 hours until his decision, there have been no leaks or leanings to any specific school. What does each school bring to the table?
Florida State: The Seminoles have been involved the longest, as both of Wiggins’ parents attended college in Tallahassee. His father was an NBA player and his mother was an Olympic track star. His AAU and high school teammate, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, is going there in the fall. Moreover, Wiggins would clearly be the focal point of the Florida State offense.
Kentucky: It’s Kentucky. The Wildcats have been mentioned with Wiggins for a very long time, and they have obviously made a very strong impression. John Calipari was the last head coach to visit with Wiggins, who canceled his remaining in-home visits a couple of weeks ago. Wiggins has played several games in the state of Kentucky, getting a feeling for the type of attention he would get in Lexington. He would have a chance to be part of a national championship team.
Kansas: The Jayhawks have been in a stronger position than most people think, not the fringe contender some have said. In Lawrence, Wiggins would be fairly close to his brother, Nick, who plays at Wichita State. The two are very close. He would be the difference between a Big 12 title contender and a national title contender -- and he would also immediately be the go-to-guy.
North Carolina: The Tar Heels seemed to have a lot of momentum in Wiggins’ recruitment as of a few weeks ago, although that’s a vastly overrated aspect of covering a decision-making progress. Wiggins would be a perfect four-man in Roy Williams’ small-ball lineup, and he would get a chance to play in a fast-paced system. He’s been attracted to the Tar Heels for a long time.
And now, it’s time for a prediction.
I think he ends up at Florida State. The Seminoles have been involved with him the longest time, and the family connection is a huge advantage for Leonard Hamilton. Wiggins isn’t a fan of overwhelming media attention, and he would be able to avoid that somewhat in Tallahassee. Moreover, he would get to be the go-to-guy from Day 1.
Jeff Goodman: "I'm changing my prediction for Andrew Wiggins' destination from FSU to Kansas. No 'inside info', just a hunch based on talking to people."
Gary Parrish: Florida State. "Combine the family’s connection to the school with Leonard Hamilton’s reputation as an elite recruiter with the fact that Wiggins won’t really have to share the ball in Tallahassee."
Matt Norlander: "FSU."
