Aaron Donald wins the Lombardi Award
The Lombardi Award is given annually to the best college football linemen.
Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald's trophy case is going to run out of room soon enough. After being awarded the Nagurski Trophy earlier in the week, Donald added another trophy to his collection on Wednesday night.
Donald was named the recipient of this year's Lombardi Award, given to the best college football linemen on either offense or defense.
“It is truly a blessing and an honor to receive such a great award,” Donald said. “I am so blessed.”
Donald had a monster season for the Panthers in 2013, finishing with 54 tackles overall, 26.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, four forced fumbles and a blocked kick. The 26.5 tackles for loss were more than any other player in the country, and Donald was the only defensive lineman to finish in the top five.
