Alabama fans were still inside the Georgia Dome celebrating the Crimson Tide's thrilling 32-28 victory over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game when the oddsmakers in Vegas named them the odds-on favorite against Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship Game.
The matchup -- which will be made official on Sunday evening with the release of the final BCS standings -- promises to draw plenty of national interest, considering the history of each program and resurgence of the Fighting Irish under Brian Kelly.
RJ Bell, of Pregame.com, delivered the news regarding the early lines for the BCS title game.

Alabama was the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation until its loss to Texas A&M in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 10. The Tide moved back up into a BCS title game position after Oregon and Kansas State suffered losses the following week, which also resulted in Notre Dame's ascension to the top spot in the polls and BCS standings.
