Barry Switzer latest person who wants to physically assault Manziel
Everybody wants to beat up Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. He should know better, right?
There's an alarming trend spreading throughout the college football world. A trend that is seeing men over the age of 50 want to physically assault Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.
First it was Lou Holtz who, while on national television, said he would have handled Manziel's behavior during Saturday's game by assaulting him. "I would have grabbed him by the throat," Holtz said.
Then there was commentator Matt Millen, who during a broadcast of a game between Louisville and Ohio on Sunday -- a game in which Manziel was not playing -- said he would put his "size 13 boot" up Manziel's backside.
Now it's former Oklahoma coach Barry Switzer who has decided that there just aren't enough adults verbally threatening Manziel.
“I’m certainly disappointed in his actions,” Switzer said while on ESPN Radio. “For him to act so arrogant, I wanted to jerk his face mask and I wanted to grab him. Of course you get fired for that now; in the old days you could get away with that. It’s the world we live in. It’s a misplaced value system. When I see this happen I wonder where the core value system comes from, if he has a core value system. This young man needs a damn hell of a lot of development.”
So, to recap, Lou Holtz, Matt Millen and Barry Switzer want to collectively grab Manziel by the throat, kick him in the butt, and jerk him around by the facemask.
But Johnny Manziel is the one who needs to exhibit more class, folks. After all, he's 20 years old. He should know better.
