Big weekend for Wisconsin as the Badgers add three commits
Wisconsin had a big weekend by adding three commitments for this year and next from Brookfield (Wisc.) defensive end Chikwe Obasih, Columbus (Ohio) wide receiver Robert Wheelwright and 2014 Hartland (Wisc.) offensive lineman George Panos.
“I became closer with the staff,” Wheelwright told BadgerNation.com. “The coaches were real nice, I really liked the facility and I liked the program. Everything was real nice. It seemed like they really wanted me to come and I was really appreciative of that. I made the decision right before I left that I wanted to come here”
The 6-foot-2, 165-pounder also held offers from Michigan, Nebraska and West Virginia among others. Wheelwright joins a pair of in-state lineman who were highly recruited but decided to stay home and pledge to the Badgers.
"It just felt good," said Obasih. "It felt right making the choice. I wanted to wait awhile, because there were a lot of schools I really like. I got hounded on Saturday. It wasn't good as other visits there, and I still felt like I wanted to be there. I still wanted to be there on a bad day, and I know I'll love it on a good day."
Obasih and Wheelwright give Wisconsin five commitments for the class of 2013 while Panos kicks off the 2014 class for the Badgers.
