Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl negotiating with Big 12, Pac-12

It appears the Big Ten will not be a part of the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl starting in 2014.

The bowl in Tempe, Ariz., is negotiating with the Big 12 and Pac-12 as yearly tie-ins, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. A deal is not done but appears probable.

The bowl, which is run by the Fiesta Bowl folks and has been heavily subsidized in recent years, won't garner a large payout compared to other bowls but still has several interested parties, including the Big Ten.

The Big Ten is finalizing its bowl plans and appears set to add the Holiday Bowl to its lineup. The Big Ten also will likely play the ACC in the Pinstripe Bowl starting in 2014, as CBSSports.com first reported.

The SEC is eyeing the Belk Bowl, Meineke Car Care and others in a second-tier pool in which the conference can slot its own teams to enhance matchups.

Michigan State defeated TCU 17-16 in last year's game.
