BYU accepts Fight Hunger Bowl bid
It didn't take long for BYU to get a bowl invite after becoming eligible on Friday night.
On Friday night Brigham Young beat Boise State 37-20 to get to six wins on the season and become bowl eligible. Shortly after that the Cougars had already accepted a bowl bid.
BYU will play in this year's Fight Hunger Bowl.
“What an exciting opportunity for the Cougars to travel to the great city of San Francisco for the Fight Hunger Bowl and to play a strong opponent from the Pac-12,” said BYU AD Tom Holmoe. “Our coaches, players and fans will love the holiday season in San Francisco. It’s great to be able to add to the wonderful bowl tradition that is long associated with BYU football.”
It's the ninth straight season that the Cougars have become bowl eligible under Bronco Mendenhall, and they've gone 6-2 in the first eight bowl games.
The game is scheduled for Friday, December 27 at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
