CBS Sports to broadcast Mountain West Championship
CBS Sports and the Mountain West Conference have agreed to a multiyear deal to broadcast the conference's championship game on CBS.
This season will mark the first time that the Mountain West holds a conference championship game in football, and on Monday it was announced where you'll be able to watch that game.
CBS Sports and the Mountain West announced a multiyear deal to broadcast the game on CBS.
“The new Mountain West football structure, which will culminate in an exciting match-up between two divisional champions, is one of many recent initiatives for the Conference as we enter our next era,” said Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson in the release. “We are pleased that CBS Sports will serve as a tremendous platform for this marquee event, providing an opportunity to showcase the caliber of Mountain West football.”
The game will be held at 10 p.m. Eastern on Saturday December 7, and it will be the second conference championship game broadcast on CBS that day, as the SEC Championship will be decided earlier in the day.
The Mountain West Championship will be played at the home stadium of the division champion with the highest BCS ranking.
CBS Sports Network will also broadcast 23 Mountain West games during the regular season.
