DT Jared Morse rejoins Vanderbilt football team
Senior interior lineman Jared Morse is back at Vandy after being kicked off the team in the spring.
Morse was kicked off the team this past spring by Franklin for violating team rules.
"He's back," Franklin said. "He was not with us for a number of reasons, and he had some obligations that he had to fulfill. He fulfilled them and he’s back. To me, we're in the business of educating kids on the field and off. And this was a great opportunity for Jared to kind of grow up, and he's done that."
The 6-foot-2, 305-pounder is now enrolled in summer classes and taking part in summer workouts.
Morse played in 13 games at defensive tackle last year for the Commodores, starting six. He notched 24 tackles, including nine for losses and two sacks. The rising senior is expected to challenge for a starting job at tackle this fall along with Vince Taylor and Barron Dixon.
His return is good news for the Vandy defense, which loses both starting defensive tackles from last season.
