Morrison was arrested Sunday for allegedly punching a bouncer at a Gainesville bar. The Gators' starting linebacker was charged with simple battery, a misdemeanor, and booked into Alachua County Jail.
According to the Gainesville Police Department, Morrison took issue with the bouncer because of the cover charge at Kava Bar and Hookkah Lounge.
Per the Orlando Sentinel, Morrison asked the bouncer, "Do you know who I am? I am a UF football player. I am Antonio!"
Morrison's arrest is the first for Will Muschamp's team since the Gators' wrapped spring practice in early April. The school released a statement following the arrest acknowledging that Muschamp "is aware and handling the matter."
Morrison started three games as a freshman in 2012 and appeared in every game, recording 34 tackles -- the most among Gators' freshmen. He is expected to be team's starting middle linebacker in the fall.
