Florida State gets commitment from fast-rising OL Ira Denson
Madison County (Fla.) offensive lineman Ira Denson blew up during the Evaluation Period and landed several impressive offers over the past month and a half but it was one from Florida State that ultimately meant the most to him after committing to the Seminoles on Thursday.
"I committed to Coach (Jimbo) Fisher," Denson told Warchant.com. "I told him 'Add me to your roster coach. I'm a Seminole.'"
The 6-foot-3, 320-pounder also had major offers from Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee. Denson was named MVP at the Orlando Nike Camp after an extremely impressive performance and drew increased recruiting attention before Florida State made him feel comfortable enough to commit.
"I picked FSU because I felt at home. No better feeling than being here," he said. "I know Coach (Rick) Trickett is going to work me. I don't want to be babied."
Denson becomes the 10th commitment for the Seminoles' class of 2013 and second offensive lineman. Below is video of him competing in one-on-ones against some top defensive linemen at the Orlando Nike Camp.
